Songs in the Key of Life 2000 remaster terrible ?

Has anyone listened to that reissue. I find the sound intollerably metallic. Was the original recording bad or did they mess up the remastering ?

The remaster is supposed to emulate the vinyl...at least that's what some people believe.

 

IMHO, the remaster is utter crap and a total disappointment. I would rather purchase the original and EQ that to please your sonic signature preference. Moreover, the original CD is not compressed, unlike the remaster which is nearly brickwalled. As far as releases go, I would stick to the originals.
