Cowon J3 ?'s and FLAC converting

Alright, I am just getting into this whole Hi-Fi music.  I just recently recieved my Shure SRH840's (love em) and just purchased today the Cowon J3 32GB.  What I am wonding is what are the best things to use for the J3.  Such as.....

1) What software should I use for the player (using foobar2000, media monkey gold, and songbird at the moment.... Havent decided which one.)

2) Where can I get a nice case for the J3 not the funny looking leather cases they have I want something that will protect it as well as offer access to the screen and such without taking it out of the case.

3) Should I buy a protable amp like the FiiO E7 (think thats right)

4) Any other comments or suggestions will be much appreciated

On a side note I am getting ready to mail all my CD's off to musicshifter.com to have them all converted to FLAC for me as I am only going to be back home for 20 days and don't feel like spending my time doing it myself when I can be spending it with the wife before coming back to Iraq.  Does any one have any experience with them?  Or any alternatives they would recommend.

Thanks,

Joe
