What to do?

Well I'm not exactly that educated in all of this stuff and I'm looking to get some advice...

I recently purchased some Ultimate Ears 700s to replace my Denon 551s. They definitely sound better, but I don't think I'm getting all I can out of them.  I was wondering what would be the best thing for me to do. I read through some threads here and it seems I can get more bang for the buck by getting a standalone DAC to drive my IEMs. I could then also use it with my laptop possibly.

I would just like some suggestions or things to look at. I'm going to be leaving for college soon so I don't have a whole lot of money to be spending...

Right now I'm using an Auzentech X-Plosion with LM4562 opamps to drive my phones.  I was wondering if a ~100 DAC or an upgraded soundcard would offer a noticeable increase in sound quality. (I have no problem buying used)

Thanks a lot!

Finnyman, i know nothing about your soundcard, but for $100 dacs i can only think of the udac by nuforce.

Alright, I'll look at some reviews. Again I can buy used no problem so 100 MSRP is still on the low end.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion. Hopefully someone can come around that can compare my soundcard to something...
