Completely forgot I had another O2 MK1 in the storage room. Looking to sell this beautiful headphone since I've moved on to speakers the past year.
This pair was bought from Audiogon about December of 2008 and I was able to use it for about a week before the cable started cutting in and out on the right side. I inquired about this problem with someone very knowledgeable with stax equipment here on Head-Fi and determined that the contacts on the right side had started failing. I then sent it to yamasinc/Accutech (Official Stax distributor and service in the US) to have the cable replaced, which cost $493.01 including parts/labor/diagnosis/shipping (have the receipt if you want it). During this time I could not stand not having a decent pair of cans so I then bought ANOTHER O2 from here on Head-fi which I used instead, since it took almost a month for the cable replacement. Even after I received this one back I used it for about 2 days to make sure everything was okay. After that, I put it back in the case and left it there. I have since sold the pair I was using the most and sort of forgot about this spare.
Anyway, the condition of this pair is near flawless + basically a new cable. The pads are only slightly used but still incredibly fluffy and comfortable. This pair will come with the original Stax case and booklet and also the receipt for the cable replacement if you wish (I can also just take a picture of it and send it to you if u want). I will also include the old original cable since they sent it back with the cans. You may be able to salvage it and keep it as a spare cable if you wish. As an added bonus, I will include the Stax HPS-2 headphone stand and CPC-1 plastic cover for the stand/headphone since I will have no need for it anymore.
Looking for $SOLD including shipping/paypal. PM me if interested. Thanks!
The pictures below are from the original sale when I bought the headphones. As I've used it very little they still look exactly the same and I doubt I could take better pictures to show off these wonderful cans.
