Is it bad for the SQ?

Could be a problem with heat dissipation with the speaker on the receiver

Ok thanks for the tips but what if the heat vents for the receiver are on the sides and not the top is it ok then?

I think the sound of your system would benefit if you put the center speaker on the upper shelf so all speakers are on one level. Heat, weight and vibration come to mind as issues that might be troubling your receiver. Did you try that before?

Speaking of vibration, does the center shake the rack much? If so, you might want to experiement with some sorbothane footers for the electronics.

Anyway, that is a very nice setup you have there!

My center speaker has those footers your talking about so there is about a centimeter of separation from the speaker to the amplifier you can see it in the 2nd picture if you look closely.. heat from the receiver vents from the side so I think heat isn't an issue and weight wise the receiver is a very sturdy unit

Thank you for your feedback correct me if I'm mistaken on any of my information

Receivers/Amplifiers generate heat and need room to breathe.  As Oliver mentioned, it will likely sound better up on the top of that stand as well as it will be in the same plane as the left and right speakers, resulting in a more seamless soundstage.

How do you like the B&W's?  They've always been a favorite brand of mine.

They've always sounded superb and I think the only thing I can complain about is sometimes the treble can let itself go a bit with certain recordings and the bass might need a little EQ but otherwise a great-looking and great-sounding pair of speakers
