I have an old 20GB IPod that I wish to get higher fidelity out of. Intend to get a pair of Sennheiser 238's and later Etymotic in ear's for more portability and when wearing a sun hat. So far I am somewhat familiar with the Headroom $100 amp and after seeing a reference to the ($370) Hornet in Absolute Sound really like it. Problem is I really can not sink that kind of dough into an amp now. What are my logical options up to the mid point price wise between the two?

I am also open to headphone suggestions as well. Have looked at the PK100 II, Grado 60/80 and Koss Porta Pro 25th. The Grado's seem a little large overall for on-the-go use. Would like to keep it <$100.

Go to this website:

I use their circuit board to build amps for hearing impaired folks. This can get you portable with one of the best sounding ports available.

Happy hunting!

Interested. So better sound than the aforementioned $100 amp for less? I like the KISS ideas.
