Right side of NEW headphones sounds very flat compared to the left ???

Just got the JVC HA RX 700 from Amazon and found that the right cup sounds muffled compared to the much more full and vibrant left. It's not just lower in volume either since ive listened to multiple tracks with both just the left and just the right side which is noticeably more dull.

Was wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem with new headphones and whether this goes away after burn-in

If it is a Driver miss-match/damaged then it is NOT going to go away,if I was in your shoes I would leave them on overnight at moderate volume levels, and if the problem still exists return them.

It could be a problem with the headphones.  If so, it isn't going away, so you should ask for an exchange or refund.

Though you might have a bad headphone jack.  Try plugging them into another device and see if they sound any different.

Another possibility might be earwax buildup in your right ear.  Apologies for bringing it up, but a relative recently thought he had hearing loss.  He turned out to be fine, but was horrified at just how much was in there.

To figure it out, put the headphones on backwards to see if the right side still sounds bad with your left ear.
