Just curious how the Modwright Transporter stacks up against a stock Logitech Transporter used as "transport" in conjunction with current, highly rated outboard DACs?

I've heard both and I presently own a stock unit. When used as a standalone with out external DAC it pretty much sound better than many DAC in the $1000.00 less range.
My Mark Levinson 360s blows the stock Logitech transporter DAC away. Modwright transporter does not modify the DAC section and only modifies the analog proportion. Modification done are the differential analog outputs with a beef up power supply and tube rectifier eliminating the cheap op amp and replacing it with tube drivers.
The sound becomes more warm and takes away the bright clinical sound of the stock.
If you already have a descent tube pre-amp and a descent balanced DAC I feel the mod is a waste of money, just use the transporter to stream 96/24 and use the digital out balanced much more preferred.
Enjoy music!
