Do you believe in Karma.. Non relgious thread.. - Page 5

Karma, worth a good read I guess...

I think that there has to be a balance to things, overall. But how Karma actually balances its accounts is the mystery eternal, and it may seem random from a perspective such as ours.

In the 70s people would talk about "Instant Karma" There were a lot of new instants  being discovered like Tang and instant spuds.

People in other parts of the world have had a long understanding of long term karma. The long term meaning from prior life times. One thought is If you are good and thought full to your fellow humans and animals here that water will be added to the bad karma "salt" on it's way into your life/mouth,.

One would hope, anyways

nice, I'll check it out! and still talking about after-life, so we could have an idea of what and who takes care of counting the Karma "points".

This chief psychiatrist was running a mental institution for ppl who seemed to be "possessed": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl_Wickland

He claims to have spoken w/ a lot of dead ppl who stole other ppl's bodies...he also says that some of those spirits were ppl who didn't even know they were dead, and what he describes in his book is sometimes pretty astounding.

to make it short: http://new-birth.net/misc/misc16.htm

"Humanity is surrounded by the thought influence of millions of discarnate beings, who have not yet arrived at a full realization of life's higher purposes. A recognition of this fact accounts for a great portion of unbidden thoughts, emotions, strange forebodings, gloomy moods, irritabilities, unreasonable impulses, irrational outbursts of temper, uncontrollable infatuations and countless other mental vagaries."

Some ppl claim that most of the brain activity happens in the unconscious region: http://thesituationist.wordpress.com/2007/11/09/

and a discussion with one of those spirits: http://new-birth.net/misc/misc15.htm

also, this priest wrote a book where he claims to have made many exchanges w/ "fallen angels": http://www.seanet.com/~raines/greber.html

this is scary ----, but for what we know the guy was crazy or a demon fed him a lot of nonsense...it's notorious that they like to mess w/ ppl.

In a sense yes, after all for every good thing that happens to you there will likely be something bad that will happen, but I don't really believe in Karma in any spiritual transcendent way.

I better believe it though, because its going to get me, and instantly at that.

For me, "karma" is not the right word, in meaning like in Hinduism. Let's say, that I believe in justice. Everything strikes back. The good, and especially, the bad. In this earthly life, or even in this postmortal life - it doesn´t matter when.(Just MHO, nothing more)

This thread is getting more interesting and weirder. Leeperry, do you read about such things often?

Oh well, thinking about the 'spiritual side' of life does put things in perspective...

Sometimes I read that "Bad Karma" could be from a direct result of living for the moment and not thinking about the cause and effect of actions. I do think that these live for the moment feeling and actions could result in " Bad Karma". In some parts of the world they think that your actions could result in reincarnation into a dog. A reincarnation into a cripple? Is karma fair? It would almost make life seem fair if it was. Americans are taught at an early age that life is not fair. It may be fair if you bring the rule of karma into the equation?

Is not most forms of evil only thinking about the moment and not the long term results. Is not good actions having good plans for the future and the future of your fellow humans?

Some may say that the banking/home loan trouble of the 2004-2009s was looking only for the moment! Is the health of the Earth at this very time the result of humans thinking long term? The Earth will be here and will recover from the scar of mans actions. Man may not? I currently look around at the power of the earth to take steps to reverse what has been done to it. People should not be taking about saving the baby seals but worry about saving their own behinds due to the results of our presence here. The Earth will be around in fantastic form just like it always has for millions and millions of years. We will ether evolve into a new species that can deal with the new Earth or become extinct.

At the same time there are three ways to get ahead.

Being of service and helping people. Is not making others happy in this life time good karma? These types have the highest respect for other people.

As not all humans have the same IQ each has his own way to get from birth to death in winning style.

The second way is to teach people. These folks use their IQ to raise the wisdom of their fellows.

The third way is to reach a meditative way of life where no contact with people is needed, only contact with God.

There are Priests that after getting though certain steps are actually certain to leave the birth/rebirth cycle and become one with God. Sometimes they have taught others,  meditated and been of service to their fellow humans.

Others may only have a short time on Earth to get there needed karmic-work  completed. "The good die young"

When I think about it there is a total life/death balance as well as a karmic balance. Things are coming into being and moving out of being. This occurs on a cellular { not cellphone} way and on a huge solar system way with large space bodies being born and imploded on a huge time line.

I feel karma is tied to the grand war between good and evil. The good can be an aspect of life the bad could be looked at as an aspect of death. These two forces will always be in balance  but wave trouble for us are when they are not. In another way death is a fact of the universe.Death is as important an element as life and they need each other to exist. Nothing I know of is eternal except for God.

What is really hard to see is what appears good and is in reality evil. What looks evil can at times be in reality good. How many shapes does water have? Can we see water behind things? Water can be inside of things. Water can be frozen. Water can be in the air! Water can be colored. We do not always see it. It can change it's form like good and evil. Good and evil also need each other to reflect onto each other. One can not be seen without the being of the other. The contrast of each other causes each one to exist.
