Is Canare F12 any better than Radioshack1/8 plug?

I am considering reterminating my Grado SR225 to a 1/8 plug, don't like using the 1/4 to 1/8 adapter.  Just wanted to know if Canare f12 is any better than the regular Radioshack $4.00 mini plug.  It seems like people prefer Canare or Switchcraft, what is the difference?

The radio shack plug has kind of iffy solder surfaces. The canare has burly ones.

Any difference in SQ.  Radioshack is metal with Gold plating, Canare F12 is Brass with Nickel/Gold Plating.

Brass is a metal. Technically an alloy but whatev.

They will be impossible to sell with the radio-shack plug - dont use it.

Good point, bad for resale value.  Thanks.
