The optimized Apple EarPods are better: far smoother overall sound, loads of deep bass with no fake bass boost, but with far smoother midrange and treble than the Ultrasone!"

I haven't heard the Edition 8, but I have heard the Edition 10 and found the sound downright offensive for what it costs, but man this review is harsh. At least they have a free version of the app so I'll give it a whirl tomorrow. If it makes the EarPods sound better than an HD800, I'm quitting this hobby for good.

Edit: *properly amped HD800, that is

Another reason to never take his reviews seriously.

Vmoda M80 for $130 in store only at Radio Shack (OOS online)

http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=11938792&filterName=Brand&filterValue=V-MODA

Wonder if RS is closing them out?

I have been spending too much lately, but for $130 I may go for it for these.

That's probably the lowest I've ever seen the M80s. I'm in the same boat, however, no more headphones for me...

That is a terribly silly thing to say. Especially in this thread. You'll always find a pair!

When I first started I was venturing for a pair of budget headphones for $50.  Then I stated I will reach my max at a $100 pair.  Now im sitting here with Senn HD 650s, Schiit M&M, D2000, Klipsch x10....etc etc...and $1000+  less in my wallet lol.

BUT...my ears can't be happier darthsmile.gif

Yep, that's where I'm at.  I am trying to resist.

I did just order an HE-500 yesterday, so it makes it a little easier to pass on these, still tempted though.

It's even harder that I can stop at a RS tonight, pick them up and get instant gratification.

Instant gratification. Now those are two words we can all appreciate. tongue.gif

i wanna follow these steps: sub $100- sub $250- sub $500- sub $1000- max out $1,500.

since I just bought the $350 cans, i think my next upgrade gonna be around 500-800 range.

I think i need to add head-fi to my website blacklist so that I won't be able to come here for a while lol
