I just looked this app up and read this in a review that made me lol...

"How good is it? I listened for about ten hours the day it was introduced, and also compared the Apple EarPods with the Dirac app directly to the $1,100 Ultrasone Edition 8 on an iPhone 5. The optimized Apple EarPods are better: far smoother overall sound, loads of deep bass with no fake bass boost, but with far smoother midrange and treble than the Ultrasone!"

I haven't heard the Edition 8, but I have heard the Edition 10 and found the sound downright offensive for what it costs, but man this review is harsh. At least they have a free version of the app so I'll give it a whirl tomorrow. If it makes the EarPods sound better than an HD800, I'm quitting this hobby for good.

Edit: *properly amped HD800, that is

Take anything that Ken Rockwell says or writes with a massive, massive mountain of salt.

Personally I take anything anyone says about headphones with a mountain of salt, at least until I've listened for myself.

Another reason to never take his reviews seriously.

Vmoda M80 for $130 in store only at Radio Shack (OOS online)

http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=11938792&filterName=Brand&filterValue=V-MODA

Wonder if RS is closing them out?

I have been spending too much lately, but for $130 I may go for it for these.

That's probably the lowest I've ever seen the M80s. I'm in the same boat, however, no more headphones for me...

That is a terribly silly thing to say. Especially in this thread. You'll always find a pair!
