I'd say that they are very good for the money, an excellent value for a set of headphones under $100. Can't do wrong. 

 

But yeah, there's some hype that goes beyond that.

Guitar Center is running a $20 off a $99 or more purchase until 12/31. It works both online and in store. I got a pair of Shure SE-215s for $79. They also had DT-770s, M-50s, a few AKGS models, and the KRS line of full sized cans in the local store. The other awesome thing is that they will price match anyone, including JR Music and BH Photo, plus apply the discount.

No, they can't live up to the insane hype. That's what makes it insane.

 

I think they're a really good pair of headphones. For the $75 I paid, they're very good.

Don't know if anyone has posted it yet elsewhere, but massdrop has a group buy going for the dt770 pro 80 ohm for $179 which expires in about 3 and a half days.  With 7 already sold, the deal is almost certainly going to reach the 15+ required for the minimum price.  I ordered one, looks to be another great deal from them!

Agreed, I just bought a pair from there today.  Glad to see nobody else could find a massively better deal somewhere else.

Guitarcenter has a $20 off coupon for purchases over $100 (see home page). The black Q701 is $228.23 with free shipping. If the code works for those, should be $208.23.
