Beyer Dynamic DT 990 Premium 600 OHM Headphones sold by Amazon Warehouse Deals $188.38 Condition: Used/very good here
The M50s are $112 on Amazon and the M40s are $49.81 so that's a $2.81 discount heh. Not a bad price but definitely not "Free M40s".
Sennheiser HD239 for $79.95 at Headphones.com
If anyone needs some RCA interconnect cables, Audioquest G-Snakes 2m are 2/3 off MSRP at Crutchfield. The longer models are 50% off. The G-Snake is an older, now discontinued model. Thus the price break.
Before this thread goes off track... anyone else have deals?

Just thought I'd give my .02 since I had that receiver breifly.
1) The headphone out is pretty appalling; both HP-out and speaker leads have a high noise floor, making them unsuitable for near-field monitors (although I imagine they will sound fine with big stereo towers, which is what they seem to be designed for anyway)
2) HK considers Amazon Warehouse items "open box", which means the factory warranty stays valid if you buy them used; a few months ago, I picked up a "Very Good" condition unit (receiver looked brand new, but box looked a bit weathered) for $155. Amazon will routinely drop the price of the used kits every few days. Unless people show interest by leaving the item in kart, or someone bites on the deal, the price will usually drop by a noticable margin.
PS: I scored a "Like New" Onkyo A5VL for $227, after a month of watching the used prices(which was stubbornly kept at $309 for a few weeks); if you leave the item in your "Save for Later" list, Amazon will alert you when the price changes ![]()
Do my adds in the for sale forum count as deals?
I would stay away from that HK 3490. I bought mine around this time last year and I have had to return it once due to it having had horrible static in the left channel (common issue) and causing the woofer in my left speaker to recess a good two centimeters when the receiver was turned on and stay there until it was turned off. Not exactly good for the voice coils. I boxed it up to be returned and basically forgot about it. I finally got around to returning that unit just last month and within 24 hours of receiving the brand new replacement, the transformer started making this horrible buzzing that can be heard outside the room.
So now I'm 0-2 with this model and have to spend even more of my money sending it back and playing the lotto that I get a good unit.

Audioholics measured the noise floor on the HK 3490 at over 80db, which is pretty good for a unit in this price range. They consider that quiet, not noisy. Perhaps your unit was faulty. I own the smaller 3390, and I have not noticed any audible noise.
