I'm posting this ad for my close personal friend David, whose username on here is namae.  You can contact either him or myself regarding this DAC.  I've spent hours listening to this DAC and can vouch for everything David says about it, as well as his general integrity--you'll have no issues dealing with him.

Thanks!

Monarchy M24 Tube DAC / Preamp

I would rate this a 9/10 or 8/10 in terms of condition.  There are no scratches, works like new and has been lovingly used and taken care of since I bought it from an other Head-Fi regular (Akwok) who bought it new.

I have the original tubes it came with Jan Phillips 6922.  4 in all which were lightly used as I ran Amperex Bugle Boy 6dj8 Ecc88 soon after I got it.

Original box, packaging and Monarchy printed material.  Plain jane power cord.

If you're not familiar with this DAC I'll tell you a bit about it.  For me its greatest quality is that it has the ability to make "poor" sounding red book CDs really great.  Vocals are palpable and liquid.  The Amperex tubes also gave a subtle, tasty, not excessive increase to the overall bass.  It's nice that it doubles as a preamp, I used it to switch between CD and Airport Express as my sources.  The volume knob has a nice smooth but weighted feel to it and it's not scratchy, completely silent.  Didn't use the line stage at all.  I understand this is a great match to drive Sennheiser headphones directly.  Although I own a pair of HD580s I never tried this directly, I always powered them through an other amp.

I'm in Coquitlam, BC. I'd prefer to sell locally but I am willing to ship it.

I have a pair of matched Amperex Bugle Boy 6dj8 Ecc88 with very little use available as well.  I bought these to replace my regular Amperex since I felt they were on their way out but by the time I got them I was already using a different DAC.  $140 CAD for them.  They are known to be a good match for the M24, more bass, liquid, palpable vocals, nice upgrade.

Also available are a pair of Mullard E88CC CV2492 6922.  I bought these from Tubemonger in "like new" condition.  A few hours of use on these, I got them just before I decided to replace the M24.  These are more neutral in sound than the Amperex.  $125 CAD.  You can read impressions on these here:
