I stumbled on Head-Fi about a month ago when I was looking for recommendations for a pair of closed cans so I could listen to music at work without bothering other people in the office.

Since then I've been lurking and soaking up information and have purchased six pairs of headphones (three new, three vintage), an amp, a USB DAC and various replacement pads. I guess I've got a new hobby...

Well I'll do the official "Welcome to head-fi!".  And I'm sorry about your wallet.

What did you pick up anyway?

Off to a good start!

2 valuable tips for U:

1.  Buy stuff used in the FS foum.

2.  Don't go to the FS forum

Congrats on your new hobby, sorry about your wallet!

Welcome pfink,

My tip, go to a mini meet in your area to try gear out and to ask questions. We have them in the Seattle area fairly regularly. Are you in the area? Saves money to try things out first hand. Or it can make you spend a lot more if you find something you really like.

I'm in Pennsylvania. I'll keep an eye on the Local/Regional Meets forum.
