So I'm in the market for a USB DAC to replace my current, slowly breaking, audigy.  My price range is $100-200, and I've found some interesting solutions, including the Maverick TubeMagic D1, Musiland Monitor 02 US, E-MU 0202, and the AUNE mini USB mk2, among others.

Anyway my question is about the TubeMagic D1:

I have a vintage solid state pre-amp and power amplifier (nikko beta 20, and alpha 230,) and my plan was to have the DAC connected to the nikko preamp, but would it make any sense use the "tube pre out"?  Or should I just have that directly output to the amp?  It would be more convenient for me to use my current preamp, so I can have my various sources available at the turn of a dial, but I'd like to make use of the tube if possible.

Thanks in advance.
