Need advice regarding a good phono preamp - Page 2

Thread Starter

Thanks for the offer, but I actually already splurged on a tcc-760 and it works as good as I could ask.

Quick question, what level should I have my pre-amp set to? I have been experimenting with various combinations of levels between my amp and pre-amp, but thought someone could shed light on this issue if there happens to be an ideal setting for each I should use.

OK, so I ended up returning the Pro-Ject Phono Box II USB because the USB output was too hot and the waveforms were digitally clipped when I opened them up in CoolEdit (my primary use for this setup is digitizing vinyl.)

Pro-Ject has a newer model with adjustable gain (Phono Box V USB) but it's currently unavailable in the U.S.:

I ended up getting a Bellari VP130 with adjustable gain that I'm running through my M-Audio Audiophile USB and I'm pretty pleased with the results.
