MZ-E50 - Page 2

An iPod for those who want access to all their tunes. Of course if you do that shuffling around business the battery tends to disappear. If you can record good mixes then MD is great. Physical playlists in the shape of many coloured MDs .

Some More OLD Sony MD units I like...
E25 (Orange is ugly, I have no pics of Blue)
E35, E55 (black)--(lol, so many "5s"
E77, E90 (White), E600
E700!! (old enough, best looking one...)
R50 (blue), R90/R91

I could go for a SJ-MJ75 too...

1 reason why I love MD is the disc-variety, there are SOO many...except for in the US..BLEGH!!

2 Battery Life
3 Portability
4-I never need as many songs as to require a MP3 player, belive me, I've had a Rio Volt (SP90, worst purchase ever, even though I got it half-off bc BestBuy is dumb).

MZ-E50 Serial #:D 543619

What Came: MZ-E50, RM-E50MP, MDR-E838, NH-9WM(N), BC-9HM
NO Manual , They Taped up the box

The E50 came today, and it's really really light... I mean...WOW!!, With a Disc and Battery, it's still lighter than the S1...I dunno how much.

The Lumina MDs are pretty, 2 had music, I erased one (Pink), it's in french (surprise, it's from canada)...anyway, one sounded decent(Green), so I decided to let it be, the other Pink one was blank.

The D-EJ915 remote works, but no pause, and the display goes in-and-out, the regular remote works fine and has a "continual" volume control, kinda like that on winamp, it doesn't have bars or numbers.

The Battery door seems decent enough, I don't have an MZ-E90 or anything to compare to, but it's probably better (since it's taller)

It has a light scratch above the MD WALKMAN symbol, but it's the only one.

The Battery appears to be dead, and so do my 2 14s from my 915 ...AAs it is until 1.5V AC Adapter

Normal Sound sounds good, but Mega Bass 1 and 2 sound god-awful.

Report more later

Hey, cool! Hope you enjoy it! I love my MZ-S1, it's really a great little gadget. Easy to use, superior to other formats imo, except such things as ipods, but those things are insane, in more ways than one ($$$$$). Good sound, even on LP2. Never tried 4, think it would sound awful.

It supposedly gets 56 hours of battery life, but I doubt it. It runs great on regular alkalines (Duracell Ultra's seem to have the most insane amount of juice so far...it took forever for that thing to die!), but on NiMH it really eats juice, and fast (once every two weeks it runs low).

Wish I had a remote on mine, that's the only thing I don't like about it.

This thing's pretty damn durable, though. It's crazy. I've dropped this thing and banged it around every which way accidentally, and it's still fine. NEVER skips.

If I had a choice between an N10 and an ipod, I don't know which I would choose...

I'd get a Sharp MD-DR7, which is better than the iPod and N10 combined, and it's PINK!!

Seriously, I've had my MZ-S1 for so long it's not funny, it gets about 30 hours battery life with my usage.

->The Battery Started to work

Oh, nobody has beaten their S1 like me, I've shot it to the ground, tossed it and thrown it to prove it's tough, etc.

The S1 doesn't have a remote jack for sealing problems.

LP4 sounds so bad it's not even funny, I tortured my ears with 1 track on my first MD, I'd heard it was bad, it was worse than bad, it was bad

I've listened to it to school and back today, and I'd have to say...that...

The sound is SOO clear, I mean, it's amazing how good it is. It leaves my NX10 in the dust , WOW, that's all I can say.

The cool thing is, you can jack up the volume up to the top, and NO DISTORTION at ALL, it's amazing, even on Bass1 and Bass2.

Another cool thing, is that if you put it in your shirt pocket with the AA adapter attached, it just barely sticks out the top, but enough so that if you put a short-cord 'phone in there, it'll go right in and not touch the shirt or be bent...the sweetest thing ever.

It's my new Favourite Mini-Portable-Audio-Reproduction-Device, or MD Player, whichever suits you better.

Oh, the charger is WAY cool, I've got my WM9 and both the WM14s charged up and ready to roll , so I don't have to buy new ones...BUT, I still have to get the...

1.5V AC Adapter (- jacket, + tip) and a Micro-Mini headphone adapter.

I'd like to add that the WM14 adds a lot of battery life. I used it for 4 straight days on the bus (6 hours), so I guess it is nice...I've got 3 Ni-MH batteries

I figured I'd update again.

1 thing that I've noticed that is really nice is that...unlike my S1, the E50 automatically fast-forwards or reverses, it's nice.

I used my A500s on it yesterday, and there's too much bass with them, it's rediculous.
