Will this memory card fit into a Cowon J3?

Thread Starter

I want to expand on the space in my Cowon J3... Will this card fit? I've never added any microSD or SD card in it before :O

No it will not. That is a SDHC card and not a microSD card. Also the Class 10 is super excessive. Classes determine the speed at which they can be written to (and possibly read from, I can't remember) and the J3 won't utilize anything above class 4 (I think it's actually class 2 but not 100%).

in case somebody briefly scrolls thru this pretty useless thread, note that thing bout cards' classes isn't true. class 6 works.

Any class of microSD card will work. Just DO NOT buy a microSDXC card, as those most likely will NOT work.

As for the card the OP listed, that'll work in the Cowon D2/D2+, but NOT in the Cowon J3 - it's too big.

This will work: SanDisk 32GB microSDHC Memory Card (Bulk Package)

It works 100%,...

look, even class 10 works, but j3 just does not write at that speed on the card....it will not make anything better, and is a LOT more expensive.... is like buying a 10 feet cable (400$) even throught you could have bought a 2 feet (100$) for a pair of sennheiser hd800(1200$), even throught the cable makes no difference to the sound, and your amplifier is on the table, so the cable will stay on the floor.....

I had a couple of bad experiences with cheap cards, one off of ebay and the other off of a seller on Amazon. I got my money back from the ebay seller and have an A-Z claim on Amazon over the second. Neither card worked with the J3 or with my Fuze for that matter.

you should be using only kingston or sandisk... i heard about something like... team, transcend, that may work, but may have problems, and all of other brands, do not lasted on me more than 2 weeks.... the worst was a microsdhc card that was not from any brand...

I recently bought the J3, and I'm wondering if either or both of these are compatible with the J3 (and what the difference is between them):

edit: I see from above that the 2nd one is compatible....

The top one is apparently a "new" version and is class 4 versus whatever the other one is... =/

Update: the J3 can use a 64 or 128 gb SDXC card if formatted correctly: http://iaudiophile.net/forums/showthread.php?t=40113&highlight=64gb+SDXC

I forgot to post it's proven possible. biggrin.gif
