Anyone have experience with this?

I am looking to upgrade to some better headphones but I was wondering what the best place to get them is.

I was looking to get the Sennheiser HD600 and have seen 2 places that have a deal on them.

Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD600-Over-Ear-Professional-Headphones/dp/B00004SY4H

Buy.com: http://www.buy.com/prod/sennheiser-hd-600-audiophile-headphone-black-gray-sennheiser-hd-600/q/listingid/95448244/loc/101/90044479.html

My question is has anyone had experience buying these from these sellers. Please note that they are not being dealt from Amazon or Buy.com but rather Pavilion Electronics and Hi End Surplus (respectively). I was wondering if I still get my warranty from Sennheiser if I buy these and are they guaranteed to be real, I have read around a lot about the counterfeit problem that Sennheiser in particular has. Can anyone chime in or even give me a better place to buy that you have had experience with and still been able to use the warranty?

Can't help you, but you should contact Sennheiser directly, and ask if these sellers are legit.

I did contact Sennheiser and the response they gave was vague at best. I will try again but just wanted to see if anyone has bought HD600 recently. Also, would I be best suited just buying from the FS section on here where I could get HD580/600 for a lesser price in like new condition? The main reason I don't do this is because I kind of want a warranty on these phones just to be sure if anything were to ever happen in those 2 years. Are all of the parts on these models replaceable/purchasable from Sennheiser? (I have heard of the headband cracking on a lot of models and just want to protect myself from this possibility.)

Haven't bought any Sennheiser cans, so I can't help you there. You can try the FS section, but I notice the high end Senns seem to go fast. I've searched for good prices on the HD600 and HD650 recently, and the best I cam up was a bit over $400 shipped for the HD650 by playing the exchange rates and ordering from http://www.hifiheadphones.co.uk/

Still too much for me, since I already have 3 cans on order: a bad mix of working for a long period far from home, disposable income, headphone sales and internet access.

If you do find a good price on the 600, at an official dealer, do warn me.

Sennheiser.com has a listing of authorized dealers. You can try searching that list for whatever stores you're interested in.

I went through all of the authorized dealers on sennheiser and the two cheapest sites are ggvideo.com and razordogdeals.com for the price of about 350

I just checked out both retailers from the links you have posted and they both offer an inhouse warranty instead of a manufactuer warranty . You would have to contact the merchants to get the specific warranty details . If it were me , I would contact Sennhieser for a current list of authorized dealers .
