Perhaps you should get a DAC in the meantime (Musiland?).

I owned both DT 990 32 ohms version and 600 ohms version. With 32 ohms you can use without the main request on amplifier, especially for portable devices, the 600 ohms version simply requires serious amp. With them you obtain serious sound reproduction. I own Beyer A1 amp with which they was „tunned“, but Lehmann audio Linear is perfect choise with which all Beyer products sounds perfect. So I advice to have one serious amp for high impedance headphones, you obtain much more from sound reproduction from them, and naturally, the 600 ohms sounds much hush or silence then low impedance one. Simply said when you calculate purchase high impedance headphones you need calculate with the purchase of serious amp too.
