Entry level computer speakers?

Hi y'all,

I'm looking for relative cheap computer/stereo speakers. I want to be able to hook them up to a TV too. I am looking for something with the highest sound/price ratio.

Thanks!

Klipsch Promedia 2.1.  I've heard them, and they're actually pretty good for "cheap" computer speakers.

what's your budget?

cheap here has a different definition than it does in the real world

You don't want "computer speakers".

I suggest you go for true active (bi amped) studio monitors : http://pro-audio.musiciansfriend.com/navigation/studio-monitors-subwoofers-recording-pro-audio?N=100001+338382

Or a passive bookshelf setup + amp. Honestly though, studio monitors will use less space and likely be more accurate.

I'd recommend Mackie MR5's or KRK Rokit6G2's then.

MR5 is neutral and Rokit6G2 has a more tuneful sound.

For cheap computer speakers, I'd go for the tried and true A2 by Audioengines

200 bucks, great sound

if you have the money go a step up to the A5s which are worth the money considering the better bass and nice iPod friendly (and Airtunes) features.

Personally, I have NHT M-00 computer speakers and I love them.  I think they'll run you 500 a pair these days though.
