I purchased these parts for Buffalo II build and have found a source selector I am going use instead.

TOSLINK Optical Input Module: http://twistedpearaudio.com/digital/torx.aspx

 

$35 for the USB-S/PDIF converter and $10 for the TOSLINK module, plus shipping.
