Sorry All! I showed the price drop in the title by editing the title to $270 shipped priority mail. I have new phones coming in on Tuesday so I'll consider dropping the price again then if I don't have anyone wanting them at $270. But at $270 shipped priority mail US, these earphones are a good price, in perfect condition and from a reputed seller here on headfi. Buy with confidence! :)

Yup, no detachable cables. Sorry! (Although honestly, haven't seen any need of them yet!)

The UM3X is very different from the IE8. Very detailed, good instrument separation, more forwards mids, more controlled bass, still descent treble but less sound stage. It is more analytical. I think the thing I like about it the most is that it handles every genre really well and really brings out the quality of the recording (not just the kbps, but the actual production values).
