Well said.  That certainly does increase the versatility in attaining synergy w/ a wide range of phones.  Back to your local SM3 programming.

Well the sensorcom tips were interesting while I was able to test them...

grrrrrr

Had earphone in jacket pocket went to sit down the pocket got pinched something went CRUNCH and I'll let your imagination do the rest...

Sooooo I guess I now have a reason to try that ear mold kit (that or pony up $100 just get an impression by a Canadian audiologist) I bought from the earplug store... ARGHHHH. I'm thinking Fisher Audio is the best route to go for someone in North America, that sound about right?

Sorry about your loss! Have you considered sending them back to EarSonics to have them repaired?

It's not your fault, the build quality should never have been that bad on a professional product.

Have an audiology with experience do an impression and send them to Fisher or to Unique Melody. I think you'll be the first to have them remolded into customs.

Someone already got them remolded into customs.

I'd call around and see if 100 is the lowest price. I would probably go with an audiologist compared to DIY however but that's just me.

Oh? What did they think of them?

I don't remember the details but I remember something along the lines of it's pretty much the same but bass increased a bit and something with the treble I can't remember. It sounds like the effect of when you go from a short tip to a longer tip.

@dweaver: If you go the reshell via Fisher let me know. I have a Fisher cable that they sent me which I have no use for since I have 2 ES cables...if you are interested of course

$100 for impressions is robbery. I've said it before, it is so easy to do diy. The audiologist here only charged me $15 for the kit and did the impressions for me. I wasn't happy with the result and went back the next day and bought another kit and took it home and did them myself. I didn't do open mouth so I need to pick up another kit for a future remold. I really want to do sm3 customs but don't want to risk losing any quality from them.

shipping back to France will cost me as much as getting customs so I will probably just go that route. In Canada we don't have alot of options for Audiologist services which is why they can rob us poor people. I will probably try to make my own and post some pics, if they don't look right to others I'll then go to an audiologist. I may also see if I can glue the nozzle back in place but may contact Earsonics first to see how warranty is handled before I do that. Actually I will call or email them in any case as shipping should only be one way for warranty which means I will only have to pay to get it to them and I don't think shipping from Canada to France will be as bad as the 40 euro's it cost me to have them shipped from France to me.

Wow!! Sorry that happened to you @ dweaver. When I had my mishap with my right casing arm, I emailed Earsonics first, and of course, was told to send them back as soon as possible. I sent the cheapest way I could and declared them a gift to Earsonics (and also broken, but can't remember totally). Anyway, Franck fixed it and in about two weeks sent them back (he didn't charge to ship them back to me and I think he declared a low value on them or gift or something like that). I would go the Earsonics route first unless you really want to know how the customs conversion will turnout right away. Good luck.

I decided to take the plunge (pun intended) and made up a set of molds. I have posted pics in the Fisher custom thread if anyone here has had molds made can you take a look and tell me if they look OK as I have two more kits I can use if they are not quite right. Still not sure I'll custom them but am definitely leaning that way. BTW how should I store these molds? In the fridge or at room temperature in a box?

Thanks

I recall reading that molds should be sent within a few days at most from production!

Edit - They look alright except for the one indentation.  Make sure you keep squirting the stuff in there to force out the bubbles and holes.  Use the full portion for the ear if you didn't already.

I am looking to ship these br Friday at the latest and may see if I can ship earlier then. BTW using that mold kit was pretty cool and very straight forward as schwallman suggested. I am going to make a second set of molds tomorrow with my mouth open and then talk with Fisher about which one I should use since I have an extra mold kit.
