Thanks for the info Madnanny1.
& .....i was talking about SQ (sound quality) & not EQ(equalizer). I think you got it wrong.
Anyways even i dont prefer using EQ at all; it dosent do justice to the original sound on A726.

hello paulypaul thanks for the info, does the lod make any difference to your mp3.
hello your are right i got it wrong,as i have said my ears can detect no difference.but then i am nearly 60
I find the line out of the A828 to be good.
i have read posts that say some of the new walkmans do not have such a good line out.
If you have the A826 you will be able to access the DAC settings in the service menu.
If you want to try this:
DAC settings (firmware menu)
(enable "hold" switch, then while holding the option button press this sequence on the direction pad.
up, up, down, down, right, left, up , down, up ,down, right, play/pause)
Once you are in the service menu go to DAC.
My favourite settings are:
Bass: 0.00 @ 50Hz (default is -4.5) so this will increase your bass
Treble: - 3.00 @ 10kHz (default is 0.00 at 15khz) so this will make the player a little less harsh in the highs
