Is anyone going? Do you know when the exhibitor list is usually posted online?

I'll be there, and if we are having a CanJam @ RMAF like last year (and I believe we are), then I'll have my gear set up like last year on Saturday and Sunday.

Just purchased my airfare so I am definitely there now.  Scheduled to get into Denver Friday morning around 10:30.

We'll be there just like last year, this year were looking at a similar vendor presence and Jude and I are in the final stages of finalizing the vendor list for this year. We welocome and encouage locals and out of towners to bring a rig as well. Last year there were many die hard speaker guys that were blow out of the water hearing how far the headphone experince has come.

So more to come in the next two weeks.

On a side note I am extremely happy to see a real focus on computer audio this go round as this is the future for both headphones and speaker sources.

Jude is part of a panel at the show.  Cool.  I should also mention Lee (Head-Fi = guitarplayer) is also on this same panel.

Embracing The Industry's Future: The Role of New Media
  4:15 p.m.
  Venue: Aspen Amphitheater
Presented By: Michael Mercer, Director of Marketing, Elite A/V Distribution; Columnist, The Daily Swarm
Panel: John Schaffer, President, Wadia; Peter Wohelski, Label Manager, The Americas, Beatport; Jude Mansilla, Founder, Head-Fi.org; Lee Weiland, President, Locus Design Group LLC; Dave Clark, Editor, Positive Feedback Online

In an open, conversational format with the audience, this forward-thinking panel looks to discuss the way the Hi-Fi industry can utilize new technologies in music delivery such as streaming sites, iTunes, etc., as a way to showcase sonic integrity, and how harnessing social media can attract a new and wider audience. We will also discuss the different methods the computer audio experience can be enhanced through many styles of music and equipment preferences.

c'mon over people!  hey, I put this lil panel together - some good people (most of them friends of mine)

we're gonna have fun discussing the real future for Hifi (and all u here are part of that)

and we have my boy Peter Wohelski from Beatport (a dear friend of mine, and Lee now too - who's been in the music business for YRS, actually signed the Chemical Brothers in the States when he was at Astralwerks -so we get another music biz head there)+ my editor Dave Clark from PFO, John Schaffer, also a good friend, from Wadia, and now Steve from Audioquest - we had a great discussion and I dig his enthusiasm

we gotta pack the joint!!

I have put it on my Calendar to be sure not to forget.

AWESOME! Lets make this panel the BEST one, the most fun, and the most exciting.  We're going to do this as more of a conversational format w/ the audience (and, sorry to admit, but notice how many other panels are saying this now - but we were the FIRST, literally, as our panel was listed and conceived long before the others) - as Peter and I have more music business experience, so we're going to do this panel more like a music biz-style format - where we have discussions, and all brainstorm TOGETHER

NOT just a bunch of talkin heads up there!!!!

So who else here is comin to RMAF 2010????

We'd LOVE to have you at the seminar + I'm excited to have Jude on-board!!!

This (and I know I've said it here already) will NOT be the typical audiophily panel - we're going to make it a conversation,

involving the audience, and having fun!!!!

Hope to see all Head-fiers there!!

Yours in Sound,

Michael

The main thing I'd be worried about is that several of us will have our headphone rigs set up in the CanJam/Headphone room, and some of us will have to stay behind to supervise listeners who visit there.  And, with a 4:30PM session, will it be over early enough for us to get back to the headphone room before it's locked up for the night, so that we can shut everything down?

Larry we'll only need a single member to watch the rigs and could even ask the a CO Audio society member to assist. Since Jude and I have access to the room getting in after the talk is not a problem.

I nominate Larry's son to be the official supervisor while we're all at the seminar. tongue.gif
