I'm a bit paranoic recently, i already have some tinnitus (due to all the concerts in the past) and i'm worried about the volume of the music... so i was going to buy an SPL online,

http://cgi.ebay.it/SOUND-LEVEL-METER-50-126-DB-NOISE-DECEBEL-NEW-633937-/280464706103?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_BOI_Electrical_Test_Measurement_Equipment_ET&hash=item414cffca37

May i trust it (the spl, not the shop XD)?

Thanks.

Due the fact that i live in italy, i can't get one from usa (duties ecc).

I use these for gigs now

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hearos-Rock-Roll-Ear-Plugs/dp/B0002CZXPS/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1280260539&sr=1-3-spell

They work very well and are far cheaper than a meter, that just tells you what you know to be too loud, is.

I wasn't looking for something to wear on gigs (thanks anyway ^^, i'm already using some plugs) but something to determine how many db came out from my headphones. Right now i'm on 7/50 on a cowon d2+ with an open headphone (reverse modded ms1i) xD

That looks like the radio-shack SPL meter, which i have used for some time now.

As long as it is durable (I dont know about that one) yes, its fine.

it does look like the ratshack meter but for the orange fittings.
