Cowon J3 got wet in the rain... what to do?

This morning, I got up early and decided to jog with my Cowon J3. Stupid me forgot to check the weather. As I was jogging, the sky decided to roar at me with thunder and pour rain all over the place. My shorts that I was wearing didn't have any pockets, so I started panicking before deciding to just cover my J3 underneath my shirt before getting back home. While it didn't drown, it did get decently wet by many, many raindrops. As soon as I got home, I immediately turned it off, wiped it down, and placed it in a bag of rice. This was about an hour ago.

As I sit here waiting for it to dry, I'm curious as to whether similar situations happened to your DAPs, specifically Cowons. Can they sustain some water damage before fully giving out? I'll be more responsible next time, but I want to read some stories and how you dealt with it.

It also sucks that this kind of damage is not covered by any warranty nor Amazon. Oh well.

Open the case and take out the battery as fast as you can, disassemble it as much as you can without touching the parts which you have no idea of how to reassemble.
Then use some dry clothes to get rid of superficial moisture, after that use a hair drier to finish the job and leave it in a dry place for a day.

Reassemble it and pray for the best.

remove batteries, plug up sensitive holes, put it in a bag of uncooked rice(to absorb moisture).

Leave it to dry for a bit. Try switching it on.  It'll work or it won't.

I once washed my ipod and Image X5 earphones on a long cycle wash in my washing machine by mistake - they were in my jeans pocket.  Got zip out of both of them at first, but left them for three days and they were as good as new again.  Except a little cleaner.

So does it still work?

Yeah when I originally read this thread I thought to myself "He's done all the right things". I think you have no reason to fear... or at least hope.
