Onboard sound card/headset question

Headset i'm planning to use is the Sennheiser PC350

 

Can it potentially damage the headset in any way? I have a pretty old/beat up PC with only the onboard sound card which I believe is the Realtek High definition audio (terrible I know).

No, but buying a "high-end" headset to a realtek soundcard is a waste of money unless you plan on buying a new soundcard further along :)
