Heed Canamp with speakers ??

I have a canamp and seem to remember reading (on their page maybe) that it was capable of driving a set of small desktop speakers.   Does anyone know anything about that?  I was thinking that if it were true, I could pick up a  nice pair and go for it.... I'm interested in the impedance / watt / specs info.

 

Thanks to anyone who knows anything about this...   I've googled and searched, to no avail.

Well, it has about 1W @ 8Ω so you'd need very sensitive speakers, I'm not sure it's feasible. I use it as a preamp between DAC and active speakers when the HD 650s aren't plugged in.

So the Chain is source -> DAC -> Canamp -> (power) amp ?       I read somewhere that the output of the canamp is unattenuated and therefore can't be used as a preamp....

 

Thanks for the reply though.. it seemed far-fetched to me too, but I SWEAR I read it somewhere!
