Cable Question, yet agian!

Hey there guys. planning to do a thunderpants Esq mod and i need some cables. I'm leaning towards the mini xlr connectors such that i can have detachable cables.

Ive got the xlr connectors sourced to mouser but the cable I'm having a more difficult time with.

How does this look?

Those wires are great for internal wiring or interconnects but for headphones cable, I'd say no. They are stiff and very microphonic.

Thanks! can u sugest a cable for me?

Also, on the headphone driver there are 2 pads. one for + and one for -. now how do i make these 4 wires (2 on each driver) into the 2 needed for termination into right and left channel. or do i take the strands from a single wire and solder them to both spots?

My favorite cable is the Mogami 2534 or 2893. Both are excellent and very easy to work with.

I'm not really sure about your question... What's your termination?

Whatever it is, the grounds are common so you can solder both of the grounds from each channel together at the termination.

need to terminate one end to be a 1/4th inch neurik and the other attached to the headphones obvously

I would suggest take a look at redco audio for your cabling needs. They got everything you need for the project.

so would i want 4 wires in the cable? two for each driver then solder them both ( 2 for each driver) to one channel each? Im just having trouble understanding how there can be 2 solder pads on each headphone and 2 channels. i understand that we need the 2 on the headphone for electrical current but where im lost is the hardware, how do the two cables attached to each driver become the one which will get soldered to the channel bit on the connector?

TYVM!!!

Yes, you should use 4 wires.

It's just simple like this:
