Did you "read" that or did you actually "hear" that to make the assessment?  I believe there are quite a few people out there who would say the opposite including myself.  Honestly though any decent solid state amp will pair decently with the Denons though.

I once had the D2000s and paired them with a Millet Hybrid. Fantastic combo.

 

I highly recommend the Pico as a dac, or the Devilsound dac.

The matrix M Stage is a perfect amp IMO for the D7000. I prefer the solid state amp over my Decware tube amp with the Denon. I heard the Dac Magic which is a nice Dac

I got the D7000 and the Style Audio Carat Ruby 2. It sounds really good. I'll make a mini review for them as soon i have the time and the listening hours sum up.

I had the HDP with my D7000s... didn't like the sound at all.. I felt like it took all the fun out of my Denons (bass and smoothness) and made them analytical. I would go with a tube hybrid or pure tube amp with the D7000s.
