My Sony MDR SA5000 have been sitting in their box for way too long now. I absolutely love these, but I have neither the time nor the place to listen to full-size headphones any more. I've had them up for sale before, but pulled them after listening to them one last time and remembering just how much I enjoy them. Of course, since then I've only had a chance to use them maybe 3 times in the past few years.
The original cable was incredibly microphonic due to the cloth covering and had a very faint 'crackle' when the cord was manipulated just right (as all SA5000 cables are prone to do eventually). I recabled these myself with Canare L-4E5C star quad microphone cable (http://www.markertek.com/Cables-Connectors-Adapters/Bulk-Wire-Cable/Bulk-Audio-Cable/Canare-Corporation-Of-America/L-4E5C-BK.xhtml) without any sleeving for minimal microphonics. The jacket of this cable is intended for microphone use, so it is incredibly durable anyway. The stock 1/4" connector was used, and I managed to run the new cable through the same strain reliefs used by the stock cable (not an easy feat with the slightly larger cable).
Also included are the stand and original box complete with satin interior.
