Up for grabs is the Ultrasone Pro 900 that I've only owned for about a week. I don't dislike them, but they're simply incompatible with my head. I know that sounds silly, so let me explain. My head is ever-so-slightly lopsided. You could never tell by looking, but one ear is positioned a bit higher than the other. Because of the "S-Logic" tech in these 'phones, they have drivers that are meant to be positioned in a distinct way. On first listen, I put them on how they felt most natural and thought there was something wrong with the balance or right channel until I repositioned them. The way I have to wear them to get the full benefit of their signature feels a bit odd, so I've decided that they're simply not for me.
They're fairly new in that they haven't been fully broken in yet. If I remember correctly, the original owner burned these in for 100 hours and then listened to them only a few times before sending them off to me. I burned them in for another ten and maybe gave them an hour head time. Conservatively, you're buying a can that has less than 150 hours. It's often said that Ultrasones need 300-400 hours to sound their best.
They come with everything: the original box, portable case, extra pads, (don't think they were ever used) straight cable, coiled cable, 1/8" adapter, demo CD, and manual. Both cans show some light scratches and the "PRO" on the headband has a few "smudges." (sent to me that way, tried to take pics of both blemishes) I would rate all of this as minor. Other than that, the black pads and head pad are in tip-top shape and everything else is aesthetically perfect.
I am seeking SOLD shipped anywhere in the continental US via USPS Priority. PayPal only, but I'll cover the transaction fee. Thanks for looking!
