How well will this amp power a 600ohm headphone and would it be worth it to hook it up to a home receiver?

The Micro Amp should have no problem powering 600 ohm headphones. It would be just fine to hook it up to a home receiver. I would use the 'tape out' so that you could select the source on the front of the receiver. Of course the more audiophile approved way would be to hook your source directly into the Micro Amp.
Let us know if you have any more questions.
Happy Listening,
Jamey
