If you are considering either the Merkur Classic or HD then I would suggest either the Edwin Jagger DE89L or the Muehle R89.  The DE89 and R89 have the same heads and while I prefer the styling of the Muehle's handle the Muehle is generally much more expensive.  But they should give you practically the same shave and I definitely feel that they both are superior to the Merkurs in terms of finish and performance.

Hehe, great stuff.

Just bought a beginner set for a friend of mine that I know might be interested for christmas.

The razor is a Parker 22R which looks awesome, kinda want if for myself. tongue_smile.gif

Also bought him the Feather blades, let's hope it doesn't get messy. biggrin.gif
