Active/powered studio monitors, recommendations please.

Thread Starter

I'm in the market for some powered studio monitors for use with my new computer.

I'm looking at around the $1000 price point.

No recording, just listening.  Room size is about 12x10ft.

Any recommendations?  Any standout stellar performers at this price point?

Thanks in advance for any insight you can provide.

here are some Active Speakers you may want to look at.

the DSPeaker Servo 299 are a bit over your budget, but look interesting. I wonder what they sound like. maybe worth an audition

Almost all the speakers in the list are high end active and way over OP budget, even the Servo.

Also its funny to see Hi-fi model based on pro ones selling way higher for something similar.

some of them speakers are insanely expensive - and probably can't be considerate as computer speakers either.

Cabasse La Sphère ($165,000 pair, including amplifiers)

four-way coaxial speaker with a special electronic crossover and individual amplifiers for each speaker — four per side.

Dynaudio BM6A, ADAM P11A, maybe another option.

I don't know other active monitor that fall in price range, apart the usual choices which have been posted in many threads.

personally if I had $1000 to spend on speakers I'll save a bit more and go with passive+amp - (which I did)

but the OP asked for active's...

Quad 12L active used.

I realize this will be well beyond the $1000 budget for new speakers but these would be on my short-list if I were in the market for powered speakers-

You could always check audiogon.com to see what used prices are for these.
