Ok here's is the situation, I have a PS3 and an Xbox. I currently use an Astro Mixamp with a pair of Ad700s for both systems. I switch the optical cable between both systems depending which system I feel like using. Ive got a pair of RX900s which I plan to mod and use for my PS3 so I will have a dedicated headset for each system. Im undecided as to whether or not I should get another mix amp, a Turtle Beach Dss or possibly just split the optical cable from the mixamp.
Now after all that nonsense, has anyone ever split an optical cable using one of those splitters and noticed any decline in audio quality? What do you guys think about my options. Im not concerned about the money and how much I spend but Im just thinking about all the excess cables and extra wire management that will be required when getting an extra Mixamp or DSS. I was actually planning on going with the DSS because I was interested in seeing how well it does in comparison but then the idea about splitting the optical cable popped into my head.
Any thoughts????
