iPod dock connector earphones help

So my Ipod 5th generation head phone jack broke. So I was going to buy a line out that looked like this http://i4.ebayimg.com/07/i/000/c2/47/2d00_1.JPG but I cant find one anywhere. I was going to buy something like this http://www.sendstation.com/us/products/pocketdock/lineout-usb.html but I dont need the firewall part. So if anyone knows where I can find a just plain line out that would be helpful. Thanks

Even if you do find a line out adapter like the one in your image, it'll most probably be too loud for your earphones (with no volume control), unless you are planning to go line out to an amp. (It doesn't sound like that's what you are trying to do, if I'm not mistaken.)

The closest thing I can think of for you is a nice cheap Fiio E1. You'll net yourself a headphone amp and music controls in the process as well, and you'll get better sound.

Either that, or go for the Audio Technica equivalent, which hasn't seemed to received much of a buzz here, but judging by the price and the pedigree should be pretty good.

Thanks a lot for the help. I'm planning on just fixing the whole thing itself cause only one wire snapped (the wire that's connected to the head phone jack and the "lock" button). I think that'd be a lot easier cause it's only like $40 than buying something else.

Just an FYI: you can currently get a white Fiio E1 for like $11 shipped from mp4nation.net .
