I grew up in a Korean household (although I've spent most of my life here in Canada) where the culture in general has a traditional dislike of cats for whatever reason... it is thought to be of bad luck, and generally has negative connotations to it for most part (which is weird because I know it's not this way in other east asian cultures like Chinese and Japanese, where they're thought of as GOOD luck...
). But despite all that, I had always LOVED them (and most other animals). I just couldn't ever have one around the house when I was growing up because everyone else in the household would absolutely freak out. I also seem to have a mild cat allergy which kind of complicates the matter of me owning one in the future, but I'm thinking I could probably go for a hypoallergenic one or something and deal with it. Either way, I'd love to have one around in my house in the future.
