Sennheiser HD-598s are the most comfortable headphones I've had the opportunity to use. I recommend these wholeheartedly for any first-time hi-fi buyer because of their excellent soundstage and...

I just received my SigPros (bought from a fellow head-fi'er), and now have several hours with them. They are great headphones. Agree with most of what everyone's saying about them. These...

Beats out the Bose Triport, the HD 202 and HD 435s, the AT M35 and AT M50. Just try it and see. Extremely comfortable (I wear mine while commuting and studying, for about 5+ hours a day). Bought...

When I first put them on on I though that the highs will blow my head off. My ears got tired after 10 - 15 minutes. I though I would throw them out of the window. But having read some good...

The RS-1 cups are 1 piece from end to end. If you are trying to copy the length measure and copy what you have now.
You can kind of see it here.

Surely you have your own ruler and pencil&paper. Someone else telling you the dimensions of the cups wont necessarily get you your desired total length if the length of the inner cylinders are different. I have not measured, I dont know if they are or not... do you?
Measure the length of the plastic (or wood in the case of HF1/2) cylinder that the driver is mounted in. Subtract that from the total length. This is the inner step where the cylinder that the driver is mounted in butts up against. Add a little bit for the skirt that overhangs the cylinder, this is another place its good to take your own measurement.
Or liberate the drivers from the plastic thing and make 1 piece cups like the RS-1 do. I cut them out. carefully.
