WTB: Good Portable CD Player (PCDP) for no more than $200

Hi, I'm looking to buy a good portable CD player for no more than $200. I'm in the USA, currently Baltimore area but Pittsburgh in a month or so.

It needs to:

  • Run on some kind of standard battery that I can buy today (AA, AAA, 9V, etc)
  • Can play burned CDs
  • No radio
  • Be well reviewed (I can handle this part)

I've been looking at pre-1995 Sonys mostly (D-335, D-303, D-25), since that seems to be what everybody here talks about or sells. I've also heard decent things about the Panasonic SL-CT570, so if you have that I'd consider it.

I don't have a reputation here, but I have a 100% rating on ebay that I can show you.

Thanks

Easy, get an old Sony discman if you want to keep it compact otherwise old CD-players are a good option. My Philips CD690 has built in amplification and a built in DAC and cost me next to nothing.

There are more brands you can check out but beware of the fact that information can be scarce. Sometimes a cheap gamble pays of.
