The Reign of Kindo -- awesome jazz/rock

I searched the site, and amazingly enough I could only find one post about The Reign of Kindo. They're an awesome rock/jazz/something band and I've been listening to them nonstop for quite some time now.

Just thought it would be good to share one of my favorite bands, so here are a couple of tunes. Hope you guys like them as much as I do!

Watching the first video.

Is the bassist wearing AKGs?

The guitarist is too smooth jazz for me I think. And it sounds like he's trying out for a prog. metal band with that singing. I've give them another chance with video 2.

Video 2 is better. His guitar playing still bores me, but they have potential.

^^ Yes to the AKGs, haven't been able to ID them yet though. To be honest, the few videos they have on YouTube aren't the best, but they're easy to distribute :)

I also agree with your assessment of the singer. His voice doesn't have a lot of character, but I find that it goes well with their songs. Different strokes for different folks!

Man that singer really gets on my nerves, sorry.

You should check The Mercury Program. Same sort of instrumentation but IMO more tasty, more genuine playing and no vocals (thank god)

wow just found this after creating a new thread. I'm waiting for their latest album coming out in August. I have their first two which are amazing (even though the recording wasn't so good).

i agree the vocals annoy me a bit too on some songs. the mercury program ain't bad either, but they sound more progressive rock and don't have that same jazz feel.

Looks like they're having fun.  Good for them.

Average age 23?  Impressive in that context...nvm the whiners.  They obviously have some talent.

PopJazz???

Not quite my cup-of-tea but that's irrelevant
