I'm putting these up for an Interest Check at the moment - basically I've got my current HD650s, and I've got a pair of Grado GS1000s which will be here tomorrow.
Now, I'm already pretty sure that I will be keeping the GS1000 - so thought I'd see what kind of price I could get for my HD650s? I can't be bothered keeping two pairs of open cans, even if they have different strengths.
Costmetically, the cans are in excellent condition. There is no headband cracking or damage. They come with the original cable terminated in the original 6.3mm (1/4") plug, which works 100%
I do have the original 6.3mm>3.5mm adapter cable - but I need to mention that it's a bit 'slack', and sometimes needs a wiggle. I guarantee that it is only the adapter cable which has this fault (which can easily replaced), not the headphone cable itself. Obviously this won't be an issue if you are using hardware with 1/4" sockets, and the adapter cable down to 1/8" does still work - like I said though, it sometimes drops signal without a wiggle :D
So - how much are a pair of HD650s, boxed, worth today? Make me an offer :)
I would gladly consider trades - would be interested in some closed, full size cans - something like a Beyerdynamic DT770 would be nice, or maybe I could try Denon again - D2000? Perhaps even Audio-Technica :)
I will grab some pictures - please note, this isn't a 100% firm sale yet as I haven't received the GS1000 to compare, but I'd rather gauge interest now, then hopefully be able to strike a quick deal when I decide to sell (which should be tomorrow afternoon).
