Mike Keneally's "Wooden Smoke". The Beatles' "Abbey Road". Jimi Hendrix -- all 3 studio records, "Band of Gypsys", "Berkeley: 2nd set". (Easy to take that stuff for granted, but it hasn't really been matched if you can get to it with fresh ears). Robin Trower's "Bridge of Sighs" (the latest remaster finally got it sounding right).
I'm not listing jazz or fusion, or for that matter classical, because I think I might type way too much. WYWH was my favorite record when I was in my late teens. Having heard so much music since then, it's hard to compare across genres or even across decades.
