Deal on DT990 / 600 Ohm

Hey guys (and gals), I just wanted to share a deal going on currently at B&H Photo.  The DT990 / 600 ohm headphones are on sale for only $229.99 (down from $319) and includes free UPS Ground shipping (US Only).  This is the same price as on Amazon, but we all know how their free shipping is.   Also, the DT880 / 600 ohm headphones are on sale, but are not as much off ($304.99 down from $319 also).

Here is a direct link to the DT990/600's:  http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/614495-REG/Beyerdynamic_483966_DT_990_Premium_Open_Back.html

Remember to add to cart to see the change in price.

Hope this helps at least one person out.

ye, I have already been aware of this sale from B&H since early Jan(from a friend), but it kept selling out frequently.  Mid February is when the stock became stable and everyone started finding out sooner or later

nonetheless, excellent headphones for an excellent price

i order mine from amazon

Why?  Free shipping is through USPS instead of UPS and also there is not a good return policy (just in case obviously).  B&H offers a 15 day return with no questions asked and no restocking fees (as long as it is in new condition, original packaging, all accessories are there, etc).  For the exact same price, it is a no brainer in my opinion. . .other wise I usually stick to Amazon simply due to the lowest prices.

Man... I'm SO tempted... I'm trying to buy speakers right now, but man, that's a heck of a price...

Well I got Amazon Prime so I get one day shipping for $3.99 so I'll go that route. Anyone want me to pick it up for them from Amazon?

Pay $4 more just to get them 1-2 days sooner than from B&H Photo?  Not to mention if you return to Amazon you get a restocking fee. . .

Always wanted to try Beyers... tempting. But the 250 ohm 990 is $199 all over the place, why is this preferable?

Free shipping = $0 and is delivered Thursday.  I never said anything about using B&H Next Day Air?

I'm outside the lower 48, so Amazon is free super saver shipping, and B&H is $20 for Priority Mail, which is what Amazon uses. And IME, Amazon does not charge a re-stocking fee if you take care to return the product and packaging in "like new" condition, but they will subtract for shipping unless the product was mis-described or defective.

But what is the advantage of 600 ohm?

Eh, I am not the one to say, but there are many threads around on the topic of comparing the various ohm versions.  I have read through many, but am not about to pass this as my own knowledge as it is not my personal opinion/experience.  Check around though, they (the threads I speak of) are easy to find.

Since the DT990 was so cheap on Amazon, I just bought it and used next day shipping ;). Man the prices on Amazon fluctuate a lot. One moment is was $239 then $229, but then I got mine for $220, and after that it went back up to $229.

Lol, will give impressions once it arrives. I've had the 600Ohm one in the past, but sold it cause I had found the 600Ohm DT880 (godsend of headphones) but was curious again cause I was not amping them properly before... now we'll see. Lets see what the WA3+ and ROC can do.
