Based on what I heard so far, I'm leaning more on selling the Sennheiser HD650.  Right now, I'm not sure whether I will keep the DT880 or DT990.  Which one would be better for most music types?  I listen to all kinds of genre, except hip-hop and metal.

Welcome to the beyerdynamic club my friend! Yeah sell the HD650's for sure man, they aren't as nice as the DT880 or DT990. Not by a long shot at least. They a muffled sound and have too much mushy bass IMO (too much bass compared to the HD600).

I find the DT880 to be a jack of all trades when it comes to music. It can do everything very well, while the DT990 is more suited to rap/techno/metal/rock, well anything that requires bass the DT990 excels with.

I am trying to buy the beyer dt800  600ohm but I can't get an answer from the manufacturer or online. Does the dt800/600 come in pro or only premium? Is there a difference? Thanks

I would get the premium...I found them more comfy (too much of a clamp on the pro). I also found the premiums more balanced.

Has anyone tried to drive 600 Ohm DT 880s with a NuForce Icon HDP?

I have the Beyer DT150 @ 250 ohms & it works great with the HDP.

I now want to purchase the DT 880 & feel that the 600 ohm version is the best impedance choice.

Here's the specs on the Icon HDP.  Is it sufficient?  Any Technical saavy head-fiers, kindly weigh in on breaking down these specs:

Headphone power spec:
  • 288mW rms @ 30 Ohm
  • 210mW rms @ 120 Ohm
  • 152mW rms @ 300 Ohm
  • 123mW rms @ 500 Ohm
  • 96mW rms @ 600 Ohm
  • 59mW rms @ 1200 Ohm
  • 43mW rms @ 1700 Ohm
  • 35mW rms @ 2000 Ohm

I'm also posting this in a Nuforce Icon HDP thread.

Thanks!
