Advent speakers

Thread Starter

I own 2 pairs of 1976 Advent large speakers.  I love them, but I got an offer to buy them.  I'm moving to a smaller place, so I just might sell them, but I have no idea how much to ask.  They are in excellent shape, except for a small water stain (my husband put a plant on one) and sound great.  Anyone know what is a good price to ask?  Pros and cons of keeping them?

I'm not sure - what model do you have? Prices vary and the Advents are popular with those into vintage hi-fi. If you're moving to a smaller place, why not offer them as a trade for bookshelf speakers? There are some excellent ones on the market today. Swap them for the Advents and then you'd have a nice pair to listen to without taking up a lot of room.

Like Uncle Erik says, depending on the model? Are they the real wood veneer or the vinyl utility cabinet ones?? Are the woofers surronds still in good shape??  If they're the real wood models and the drivers are still good I'd ask at least 150.00 for the pr....You can't buy anything close to that speaker, or sound wise for that kind of money...JMO.......If they're the larger vinyl cabinets and the drivers are still good, ask at least 100 bucks????Sound ok with anyone else???Hope this helps....

Once we know the model, then the price will come. However, 9pintube has the pricing just about right.
